A mid-size acute care hospital providing comprehensive medical services, including emergency care, trauma services, stroke and chest pain programs, women’s and children’s services, and neonatal care. The organization operates multiple emergency departments, including a pediatric emergency department and freestanding emergency locations. The hospital is recognized for high-acuity care delivery and a strong commitment to patient-centered outcomes.
Under the direction of senior nursing leadership, the Manager, Emergency Services provides nursing and operational leadership for the Emergency Department. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of daily operations, staffing, and clinical performance. The Manager monitors nursing practice, enforces standards of care, and holds staff accountable for quality, safety, and clinical outcomes in alignment with organizational objectives.
Provide leadership oversight for daily Emergency Department operations and staffing.
Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Monitor and evaluate clinical practice, patient outcomes, and staff performance.
Promote a culture of accountability, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.
Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to meet departmental and organizational goals.
Support regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and performance improvement initiatives.
Minimum 3 years of recent (within the last year) acute care Emergency Department leadership experience required.
Charge Nurse experience may be considered; manager-level experience strongly preferred in a high-acuity setting.
Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
BSN preferred or actively pursuing with completion within two (2) years of hire.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or active compact license, in accordance with state regulations.
Required within 90 days of hire:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
NIH Stroke Scale
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
High-acuity Emergency Department with trauma designation.
Combination of main treatment rooms and hallway beds.
Average daily volume of approximately 100 patients per day.
Oversight of approximately 90 FTEs.
Scope of responsibility limited to Emergency Services.
Reports to Emergency Services Director and senior nursing leadership.
