The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting. This role involves assessing patient conditions, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and delivering evidence-based nursing interventions in alignment with professional nursing practice standards.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patient needs
Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care through initial and ongoing assessments
Initiate assessments based on patient condition, physician diagnosis, and functional health frameworks
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage assigned patient care
Accurately document care according to standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities
Interpret cardiac rhythms and provide continuous telemetry monitoring
Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and effectively
Educate patients and families on care plans and treatment expectations
Advocate for evidence-based practice and support quality improvement initiatives
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Deliver patient-centric care aligned with the professional nursing practice model
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience
Proven clinical competency in:
Patient assessment
EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm analysis
Hemodynamic monitoring
IV insertion and therapy
Medication administration
Wound care
Patient and family education
Working knowledge of inpatient hospice care
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Attention to detail and clinical accuracy
Composure under pressure
Empathy, compassion, and adaptability
Required:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Active New Jersey RN License or Multi-State Compact License
BLS (AHA)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Telemetry Certification or Telemetry Competency Exam
ACLS
CEU – Contact Stroke (4 Hours)
Shift: Night
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: As needed
On-Call: None
Floating: As needed, within scope of competency
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Required: Minimum 1 year of experience
Preferred: 2+ years of experience
