Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: Fort Lee, NJ 07024
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (5×8)
Pay Rate: Up to $21/hour
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced outpatient cardiology practice. Under the supervision of licensed providers, this role involves direct patient care, exam room preparation, EMR documentation, and assistance with diagnostic and lab procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments
Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
Accurately take and record vital signs in the medical chart
Perform EKGs and assist with PFT, audiometry, Titmus tests as applicable
Perform UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and lab testing (blood draw a plus)
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR
Assist with billing and collection processes as needed
Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds
Adhere to organizational standards, policies, and professional conduct
Perform additional duties as assigned
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/push/pull light equipment
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in a fast-paced outpatient or physician office setting
Proficiency with EMR systems
Experience rooming patients and taking vital signs
Preferred: 3+ years of relevant experience
Education:
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)
Certifications & Licensure (Mandatory):
AHA BLS
One of the following MA certifications:
CMA – NHA, CMA – NCCT, CMA – AAMA
RMA – AMT, RMA – NAHP
AMCA, NCMA
