Critical Care / Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
Shift: Night Shift
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holidays: Some holidays required
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for Adult Critical Care / ICU night shift assignments. Nurses will be placed in appropriate ICU units based on clinical background and experience. This role requires strong critical care skills, the ability to work in high-acuity environments, and prior experience in trauma-capable hospitals.
Set schedules are maintained; extended time-off requests exceeding one week are not permitted during the assignment.
Deliver comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients.
Perform detailed patient assessments and ongoing monitoring in an acute care ICU environment.
Administer medications, manage infusions, and support advanced life-sustaining therapies as ordered.
Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and emergencies.
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Accurately document patient care using electronic medical records (EPIC preferred).
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Provide patient and family education and emotional support when appropriate.
Active New York State RN license
BLS certification (must be current or eligible for recertification)
Minimum 1.5 years of recent ICU or critical care experience within the last 2 years
Experience in an acute care facility of comparable size and acuity
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Ability to successfully pass:
Pre-employment health clearance
Drug screening
Criminal background check
Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers
Prior EPIC EMR experience
Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Traveler experience in large or high-acuity hospitals
Recent adult ICU / critical care nursing experience
Ability to work independently with minimal orientation
Proven competency in high-acuity patient care environments
