Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Care provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in acute and post-acute care settings. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare providers
Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients
Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications
Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertions, and IV initiation
Adjust and monitor specialized medical equipment; interpret and document clinical measurements
Monitor vital signs and promptly report adverse reactions or changes in patient condition
Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning and continuity of care
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and post-discharge care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and documentation
Adhere to established nursing standards, protocols, and best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
Acute Care Facilities: Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital; most recent experience within the past year
Post-Acute Facilities: Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a post-acute or acute care setting; most recent experience within the past year
Strong skills in physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, and infection control
IV therapy and post-operative care experience
Patient education and care coordination skills
Telemetry monitoring experience
Preferred Skills & Experience:
EPIC EMR experience
Education: Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program
Certifications & Licensure:
Active New York State RN license with Primary Source Verification (NYSED)
AHA BLS certification required
AHA ACLS required for certain assignments/locations
Primary Source Verification of RN license and registration required
