Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Care

Location: New York, NY 10004

Schedule:

  • Hours per Week: 40

  • Hours per Day: 8

  • Days per Week: 5

Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Care provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in acute and post-acute care settings. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare providers

  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients

  • Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications

  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertions, and IV initiation

  • Adjust and monitor specialized medical equipment; interpret and document clinical measurements

  • Monitor vital signs and promptly report adverse reactions or changes in patient condition

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning and continuity of care

  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and post-discharge care

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and documentation

  • Adhere to established nursing standards, protocols, and best practices

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Acute Care Facilities: Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital; most recent experience within the past year

  • Post-Acute Facilities: Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a post-acute or acute care setting; most recent experience within the past year

  • Strong skills in physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, and infection control

  • IV therapy and post-operative care experience

  • Patient education and care coordination skills

  • Telemetry monitoring experience

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • EPIC EMR experience

Education: Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Active New York State RN license with Primary Source Verification (NYSED)

  • AHA BLS certification required

  • AHA ACLS required for certain assignments/locations

  • Primary Source Verification of RN license and registration required
