Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Unit
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: (One Day shift and one Day/Evening shift available)
Pay: $36–$45/hr
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit. The ideal candidate will have psychiatric nursing experience and a passion for working with pediatric populations. The LPN will provide direct patient care, assist with procedures, and support interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced acute care environment. Weekend and holiday rotations are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient care activities in acute psychiatric settings with minimal orientation and supervision
Greet patients, direct them to exam rooms, and prepare for exams
Assist with exams, including preparing trays for injections and recording vital signs
Administer injections and assist with procedures such as pap smears
Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas
Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse as outlined in the care plan
Observe and report patient responses to treatments
Participate in nursing unit management activities
Assist with general office duties, scheduling, and communication with insurance companies and primary care providers
Document patient care in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Qualifications:
Required:
Current New York State LPN license
CPR certification (or ability to obtain/re-certify)
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in an inpatient setting
Psychiatric nursing experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred:
Pediatric nursing experience
Experience with EKG application
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
