Day Shift
5×8-hour shifts
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Schedule Pattern: Rotational coverage within the Emergency Department Float Pool
We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support an Emergency Department Float Pool in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role requires flexibility, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to provide high-quality patient-centered care across multiple emergency care settings. Level I Trauma experience is preferred.
Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department
Obtain and record vital signs accurately and promptly
Assist patients with toileting, bathing, feeding, and mobility based on assignment
Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as safety risks
Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development across age groups
Respond effectively to changing patient conditions and needs
Communicate clearly and professionally with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive patient care environment
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based activities
Accurately obtain, record, exchange, and convey patient information
Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality
Maintain positive public relations and professional conduct
Actively participate in personal and professional development
Current New York State CNA certification
BLS certification (required)
Minimum 1 year of patient care experience
Ability to pass all pre-employment health clearance requirements
Prior experience in an Emergency Department
Level I Trauma Center experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Attention to patient safety, dignity, and quality of care
