  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

  • Schedule Pattern: Rotational coverage within the Emergency Department Float Pool


Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support an Emergency Department Float Pool in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role requires flexibility, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to provide high-quality patient-centered care across multiple emergency care settings. Level I Trauma experience is preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department

  • Obtain and record vital signs accurately and promptly

  • Assist patients with toileting, bathing, feeding, and mobility based on assignment

  • Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as safety risks

  • Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development across age groups

  • Respond effectively to changing patient conditions and needs

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive patient care environment

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based activities

  • Accurately obtain, record, exchange, and convey patient information

  • Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality

  • Maintain positive public relations and professional conduct

  • Actively participate in personal and professional development


Required Qualifications

  • Current New York State CNA certification

  • BLS certification (required)

  • Minimum 1 year of patient care experience

  • Ability to pass all pre-employment health clearance requirements


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an Emergency Department

  • Level I Trauma Center experience
