Job Title: X-Ray Technician (Contract)

Location: New York, NY 10019
Department: Orthopedics – Outpatient Ortho Practice
Duration: 8 Weeks
Schedule: 5 Days/Week
Hours: 7.5 hours/day | 37.5 hours/week

Pay Rate: $80/hour


Position Summary:

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating radiologic imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images in an orthopedic outpatient setting. This role includes patient preparation, adherence to radiation safety protocols, image quality assurance, documentation, and basic equipment maintenance in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and position patients for radiologic procedures.

  • Operate radiologic imaging equipment and adjust exposure factors as appropriate.

  • Ensure radiation safety for patients, staff, and self in accordance with protocols.

  • Maintain quality, accuracy, and consistency of radiographs.

  • Document exams and patient care in departmental systems.

  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

  • Maintain inventory and ordering of radiology supplies.

  • Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols.

  • Complete age-specific competency requirements.

  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Experience Required:

  • 2 years of recent X-Ray Technologist experience required (0–2 years considered with recent experience).


Licensure & Certifications Required:

  • Active New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT).

  • ARRT Certification.

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
