Position Title: Registered Nurse – Pediatrics

Shift: Mid Shift | 5×8 Hours (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
Schedule: Sunday through Thursday (Friday & Saturday off)
Assignment Length: 26 Weeks
Location: Hudson Valley Region, New York

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive pediatric nursing care in a secure juvenile care setting. This role focuses on delivering safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing interventions while supporting the physical and emotional well-being of youth in a structured environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing interventions and medication administration in accordance with established nursing care plans and regulatory standards

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor ongoing medical conditions

  • Maintain and manage medical inventory, including controlled substances

  • Prepare, review, and evaluate individualized nursing intervention plans

  • Ensure all care provided aligns with multidisciplinary treatment plans

  • Monitor and enforce infection control and safety standards

  • Participate in staff trainings and interdisciplinary team meetings

  • Prepare required clinical and administrative documentation and reports

  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding patient condition changes

  • Serve as an active member of the facility’s medical treatment team

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned

  • Pediatric and adolescent youth

  • Male and female individuals in a secure care environment


Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Ability to provide nursing care in compliance with regulatory and correctional healthcare standards

  • Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a structured and secure healthcare environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with pediatric or adolescent populations

  • Experience in correctional health, behavioral health, or residential care settings

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
