Shift Type: Day Shift
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Typical Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Variable Start Times: 7:00 AM or 9:30 AM
Weekly Hours Pattern:
Alternating weeks of approximately 32 hours and 36 hours
32 hours guaranteed per week

Contract Length: 13 weeks
The Emergency / Urgent Care Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, rapid-response nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical needs. This role requires strong emergency nursing experience, the ability to manage a fast-paced clinical environment, and flexibility in scheduling. The RN will deliver patient-centered care while collaborating closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams.
Perform rapid patient triage and comprehensive nursing assessments
Provide direct nursing care for a wide range of urgent and emergency conditions
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders
Assist with emergency procedures and patient stabilization
Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff
Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
Deliver patient education and discharge instructions as appropriate
Active New York State RN license (must be in hand)
Minimum of 3+ years of recent emergency or urgent care nursing experience
Emergency Department experience preferred
Current certifications required:
BLS
ACLS
Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and communication skills
Local candidates are not accepted
Candidates must reside outside a defined local radius
Applicants whose primary residence falls within restricted local regions are not eligible for new contracts
Eligibility for contract extensions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
Prior urgent care or emergency department travel experience
Experience in high-volume or fast-paced clinical environments
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
Strong assessment, prioritization, and decision-making skills
Collaborative approach with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
