Job Title: MuleSoft Tech Lead / Principal Consultant

Location: New York–based candidates preferred (Remote considered for the right profile)

Duration: 6-Month Contract (with potential extension based on business needs)


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced MuleSoft Tech Lead / Principal Consultant to lead the design, development, and standardization of enterprise integration solutions. This role focuses on creating scalable, reusable integration frameworks, optimizing existing systems, and reducing overall integration costs through best-practice design.

The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across MuleSoft initiatives, collaborate closely with architects and stakeholders, and drive high-quality API and integration delivery in cloud and hybrid environments.


Key Responsibilities

Integration Design & Development

  • Participate in the design, development, and deployment of MuleSoft applications using Mule 4

  • Collaborate with MuleSoft Architects to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective integration solutions

  • Standardize integration patterns and mechanisms to improve efficiency and reduce system complexity

  • Develop solution features following MuleSoft best practices to ensure performance and scalability

API & Data Transformation

  • Write complex DataWeave expressions for data transformation and message enrichment

  • Design and implement RESTful APIs using RAML 1.0

  • Control message flow and processing using appropriate connectors, routers, scopes, and filters

  • Implement comprehensive error-handling and exception management strategies

Platform & Deployment

  • Configure and deploy Mule applications to CloudHub 2.0 and/or customer-hosted Mule runtimes (single or clustered)

  • Support CI/CD pipelines for APIs and integrations using DevOps tools

  • Perform performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of MuleSoft applications

Support & Collaboration

  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and integration stakeholders

  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex integration and runtime issues

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for MuleSoft applications and integrations

  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft 4

  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture and API strategy

  • Proficiency with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including:

    • Mule Runtime

    • Connectors

    • Design Center

    • API Management

    • Partner Manager

    • DataWeave

    • Flex Gateway

    • CloudHub 2.0

    • EDI integrations

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • RAML 1.0

    • Maven

    • MUnit testing

  • Strong expertise in data transformation, error handling, and exception management

  • Experience deploying MuleSoft solutions in cloud and hybrid environments

  • Familiarity with API security standards and best practices

  • Understanding of identity management, authentication, and authorization concepts

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
