Job Title: Network Engineer
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Location: Columbia, SC 29201 (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Engineer to support mission-critical systems for a large public-sector environment. This role will collaborate closely with architecture, application, infrastructure, and security teams to design, implement, secure, and maintain a stable enterprise network infrastructure that supports statewide initiatives and services.
The Network Engineer will provide technical support for large-scale enterprise systems, including statewide WAN, LAN, and wireless environments, and will play a key role in maintaining secure, high-availability network services.
Monitor, maintain, and support a statewide site-to-site network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, and wireless environments.
Design, implement, and support Cisco and Meraki network solutions aligned with enterprise best practices.
Develop and maintain detailed implementation and test plans for new deployments and enhancements.
Perform network monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.
Analyze system logs and implement solutions to improve network reliability, scalability, and security.
Research, evaluate, and support network software upgrades and patches.
Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for internal teams and external partners, including county IT organizations.
Accurately document incidents, requests, changes, and resolutions using an IT service management system.
Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Lead assigned network projects end-to-end, including scope definition, requirements gathering, architecture design, implementation, and support.
Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to team members as needed.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required:
4–6 years of hands-on experience with:
Cisco Firewalls (ASA5508-X, ASA5585-X, FirePower 4110/2120)
Cisco Routers
Cisco Switches (3750, C9500, C9300, Nexus 5k/7k)
Experience supporting Cisco Meraki switches, wireless access points, and firewalls (MX series).
Strong experience monitoring and troubleshooting enterprise networks using tools such as Wireshark.
Proficiency with Cisco Security Manager.
Solid understanding of WAN, LAN, VPN, and wireless networking concepts.
Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Certifications (Required):
Cisco CCNA
Cisco CCNP
Experience with:
Cisco VPN and remote access technologies
Cisco Client solutions
802.1X authentication
Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, PKI
PowerShell scripting
Experience working in large, complex, multi-agency or public-sector environments.
