Position Overview

A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care within a secure correctional setting. The RN will be responsible for assessment, medication administration, care planning, and coordination of care for an adult patient population, while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and facility guidelines.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Shift: Day Shift | 2 × 12-Hour Shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

  • Pay Rate: $56.50 – $69.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and obtain, document, and update health histories and vital signs.

  • Prepare individuals for examinations and assist with medical treatments and procedures.

  • Administer medications and perform nursing procedures as prescribed.

  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized nursing care plans.

  • Provide clinical guidance and supervision to direct care staff and delegate nursing activities as appropriate.

  • Monitor and document patient symptoms, conditions, diet, activity, and responses to medications.

  • Identify and promptly report changes in patient condition or adverse reactions.

  • Serve as the nursing representative on interdisciplinary treatment teams.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

  • Perform clinical rounds to assess nursing care needs and evaluate service delivery.

  • Provide health education, counseling, and wellness promotion to individuals and groups.

  • Implement infection prevention and control protocols; provide education and consultation to staff.

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations.

  • Monitor medication, supply, and equipment inventories to ensure continuity of care.

  • Assist with scheduling, reporting, and performance feedback for nursing support staff as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

  • BLS Certification
