A well-established organization in the healthcare services sector is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to lead and manage daily transportation operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and professional delivery and pickup of surgical instruments. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, logistics coordination, and problem-solving skills to support high operational and customer service standards.
Manage daily transportation schedules and coordinate routes to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups.
Supervise Transportation Technicians, providing coaching, feedback, and performance support.
Ensure compliance with transportation policies, safety protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Act as the primary point of contact for transportation-related matters within the facility.
Resolve daily operational challenges and escalate urgent issues when necessary.
Ensure vehicles and transportation equipment are properly maintained, inspected, and operationally ready.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align transportation services with client and operational needs.
Track logistics metrics and maintain accurate records for routes, schedules, and performance.
Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Direct supervision of Transportation Technicians.
Occasional local travel; primary work is conducted on-site.
Work is performed in an active operational environment with exposure to traffic, varying weather conditions, and healthcare settings.
Some office and warehouse-based coordination may be required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or operational coordination.
At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience.
Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively.
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail, particularly in scheduling, safety, and documentation.
Proficiency with GPS and route planning tools; comfort using technology-driven scheduling systems.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues and implement timely solutions.
Experience in healthcare logistics or sterile processing environments.
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Coursework in logistics, operations, or business is preferred.
Degree in operations, business, or a related field is a plus.
Valid driver’s license.
Clean driving record (MVR).
