Job Title: Senior PeopleSoft Developer

Location: Hybrid - Oakland, CA
Duration: 9 Months


Position Overview

A large enterprise organization is seeking an experienced Senior PeopleSoft Developer to support development and production activities for a PeopleSoft HCM ERP system, with a primary focus on Base Benefits and Benefits Administration. The role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting highly complex PeopleSoft solutions while collaborating closely with functional, technical, and project teams to deliver compliant, scalable, and high-quality system enhancements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in development and enhancement activities for PeopleSoft HCM, particularly in Base Benefits and Benefits Administration modules.

  • Design and implement defect-free system enhancements following industry and application best practices.

  • Collaborate with core development teams, subject matter experts, and project stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.

  • Work closely with business and technical counterparts to ensure solutions align with organizational needs and standards.

  • Prepare, review, and obtain approval for system and programming documentation.

  • Initiate and oversee updates to development, maintenance, and system standards.

  • Define technical requirements for complex software specifications.

  • Apply advanced software engineering concepts to plan, design, develop, modify, debug, deploy, and evaluate highly complex applications.

  • Analyze existing systems and design algorithms and logic for new or enhanced solutions.

  • Perform complex data analysis and testing/debugging activities, working closely with management.

  • Design, analyze, and integrate complex data sources while enforcing advanced programming security practices.

  • Provide advanced production support, including participation in on-call rotations as required.

  • Diagnose and resolve system defects, analyze recurring issues, and recommend long-term solutions.

  • Triage and escalate issues to management as appropriate.


Technical Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft development tools, languages, and integration technologies, including:

    • PeopleSoft Application Engine

    • Component Interfaces

    • Integration Broker

    • BI Publisher

    • Oracle Databases

    • SQL and PL/SQL

  • Strong experience authoring clear, concise technical documentation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of system dependencies and the impact of system changes on users and related applications.

  • Experience with data integration and data services specification.


Required Experience

  • 7+ years of experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.x, including work on at least two large-scale implementations supporting large user populations across multiple locations.

  • Advanced experience designing and developing PeopleSoft HCM solutions, with deep expertise in the Benefits module and PeopleSoft HCM data model.

  • Strong Application Engine and SQL development skills.

  • Experience developing and maintaining:

    • Application Engine programs

    • Component Interfaces

    • Fluid pages

    • Integration Broker services

    • Custom reports across multiple modules

  • Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Fluid technologies, including:

    • Fluid UI

    • Tiles

    • Related Content

    • Event Mapping

    • Page and Field Configurator

  • Strong web development skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to enhance Fluid UI accessibility and navigation.

  • Experience with configuration strategy development and object migration using STAT/PHIRE tools.

  • Proven experience creating technical design specifications, test plans, and implementation documentation.

  • Experience developing system conversion and implementation plans.
