Job Type: Local / Travel Contract

Shift Options:

  • Early Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM

  • Evening Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Pay Range:

  • Local Rate: Up to $36/hour

  • Travel Rate: Up to $42/hour

Position Summary

A healthcare facility is seeking a Cardiology Diagnostic Technician to support non-invasive cardiac diagnostic services in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent patient communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood and clinical specimens using proper patient identification and safe handling techniques.

  • Perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests including EKGs, Holter monitoring, and exercise stress testing.

  • Educate patients regarding procedures and ensure complete and accurate documentation.

  • Process test orders, billing information, and maintain records in hospital information systems.

  • Communicate test delays, order updates, and equipment issues promptly to appropriate staff.

  • Follow all PPE guidelines and hospital safety protocols.

  • Assist nursing units with specimen collection as needed.

  • Support orientation and training of new staff or students.

  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement data collection.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Deliver high-quality service aligned with organizational standards.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course or equivalent.

  • Excellent multitasking, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume clinical environment.

  • Acute care hospital experience preferred.

Education & Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • PBT (ASCP) Certification Eligible (as defined by ASCP).

  • BLS Certification required.
