Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse for a night-shift travel assignment in an acute care medical-surgical telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills, proficiency in electronic charting, and experience caring for a telemetry patient population.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients

  • Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms accurately

  • Administer medications and manage telemetry-related treatments

  • Identify and respond appropriately to cardiac and neurological emergencies

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records

  • Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards


Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State RN license (must be in hand)

  • Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience

  • At least 1 year of current experience with a telemetry patient population

  • BLS Certification (required)

  • ACLS Certification (required)

  • Must successfully pass a hospital-proctored cardiac rhythm interpretation exam, including:

    • ≥80% accuracy in rhythm identification

    • 100% accuracy in identifying critical rhythms

  • Epic charting experience required

  • Ability to manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:4–5

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with critical drips

  • CVA/stroke care experience

  • Strong telemetry monitoring and intervention skills


Shift & Schedule

  • Night Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts

  • Weekends and holidays as required based on unit needs
