Job Title: Medical Assistant

Location: St. Joseph, MO
Contract Duration: 12+ Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: Day Shift | Monday – Friday
Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Position Overview

A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support both front-office and back-office operations. This role requires a versatile professional who can deliver excellent patient care while assisting with clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet, register, and room patients in a professional and courteous manner

• Perform clinical tasks including taking vital signs, phlebotomy/venipuncture, EKGs, and point-of-care (POC) testing

• Administer vaccines and assist with other clinical procedures as needed

• Support front-office operations including scheduling appointments and answering phones

• Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

• Ensure smooth patient flow and assist providers with clinical support

• Maintain a collaborative and professional relationship with clinical and administrative staff

• Adhere to safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (externship not included)

• Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience required

• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills

• Proficient computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification (strongly preferred)

• Occupational Health experience (strongly preferred)

• BLS or CPR Certification
