Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele)

Schedule & Shift

  • Shift: Night Shift

  • Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts

  • Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  • Weekends: Every other weekend required

  • Block Scheduling: May be considered but not guaranteed

  • On-Call: Not required

Staffing & Ratios

  • Day/Evening Ratio: 5:1 (may stretch to 6–7:1)

  • Night Ratio: 6–7:1 (may stretch to 8–10:1 if staffing issues occur)

  • Support Staff:

    • Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) on all units for vitals, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs

    • In-house phlebotomy team for peripheral lab draws

    • RNs responsible for PICC lines and central lines

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele RN experience

  • First-time travelers accepted

  • Local candidates not accepted (75-mile radius)

  • Pending license not accepted

Floating Requirements

  • Floating required within scope to other Med-Surg units

  • May float to ED boarders

  • May float to ICU to care for stable patients only, if needed

Required Certifications

  • BLS (required)

Time-Off Policy

  • Maximum 1 week of RTO allowed during the contract

Clinical Skills & Competencies (Required)

  • Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing

  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

  • IV insulin protocols

  • Heparin protocols

  • Management of cardiac drips (no titration)

  • Feeding tube care and management

  • Chest tubes (Emerson / Pleur-evac)

  • External CPAP / BiPAP

  • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)

  • Tracheostomy care and management

  • Wound care and wound vac management

Patient Population & Diagnoses

  • Infection

  • Altered mental status

  • Pain

  • Increased level of care

Equipment & Systems

  • Telemetry monitoring

  • EKG

  • Charting System: Epic (required)

Scrubs

  • Any combination of navy and white

COVID-19 Policy
