Location: Syracuse, NY
Contract Duration: 16 Weeks
Shift: Day or Night | 12-hour shifts
Schedule: 12 hours per week
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and select holidays
A hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) assignments on both day and night shifts. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to pediatric patients in a high-acuity trauma setting.
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized plans of care
Monitor and interpret patient responses to treatments and interventions
Administer medications and therapies per physician orders and protocols
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
Document all care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality standards
Support patients and families with compassionate, age-appropriate communication
Function independently in a fast-paced critical care environment with minimal orientation
Active New York State RN License
Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience
Experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center
BLS certification (AHA required)
Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
