Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
A healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Assistant / Patient Support Specialist to provide remote administrative and patient support services. This role focuses on appointment coordination, patient communication, and front-end support to ensure a seamless patient experience in a virtual healthcare environment.
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, follow-ups, and physician referrals
Answer incoming calls and route inquiries to appropriate departments or staff
Greet and assist patients virtually, determining needs and directing requests appropriately
Compile, update, and maintain patient medical charts, reports, and correspondence
Ensure completion of privacy and consent forms
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes remotely
Collect and process patient co-payments as required
Provide high-quality customer service to support a positive patient experience
Assist patients with appointment-related inquiries and general healthcare questions
Staffing and VMS experience (required)
Experience working in a healthcare or medical office support role
Proficiency with Athena EMR
Strong phone etiquette and experience handling high-volume calls
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong computer skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
Understanding of general administrative and patient support duties in a healthcare setting
