Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Location: Remote
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Programmer to support production systems, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to short-term development initiatives. This role involves close collaboration with technical, operational, QA, and business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Provide production system backfill support
Work on smaller, short-term development projects as needed
Collaborate with customers, development teams, operations, and QA staff
Participate in an on-call rotation as required
Develop and maintain COBOL and ADS programs on a Mainframe (MVS) environment
Perform coding changes using IDMS Network and Relational databases
Debug, unit test, and support integration testing of code changes
Support QA, UAT, and external testing by resolving defects and making code updates
Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats
Collaborate with internal teams and contracted staff

Strong soft skills including communication, adaptability, problem-solving, and time management
5+ years of experience with Mainframe programming
5+ years of experience with COBOL
5+ years of experience with JCL
5+ years of experience with IDMS databases
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
High School Diploma or equivalent
