The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direction of licensed radiologists. This role requires technical proficiency, strong patient interaction skills, and strict adherence to radiation safety standards.
Associate’s degree (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
Active New York State Radiologic Technologist license/registration
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
Ability to successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians
Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures
Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation
Select appropriate exposure factors to produce high-quality images
Practice radiation safety and protection standards to minimize patient exposure
Operate imaging equipment efficiently and identify/report equipment malfunctions
Process imaging studies and enter accurate documentation into the Radiology Information System (RIS) for billing and record-keeping
Follow departmental policies, procedures, and imaging protocols
Maintain proper use and care of radiologic equipment
Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to meet diagnostic imaging needs
