Position Title: School Social Worker
Location: Burbank, IL 60459
Contract Duration: 22 Weeks
Pay Rate: $48.00 – $56.00 per hour
Shift: Day Shift | 3 Days per Week
Weekly Hours: Approximately 34.5–35 hours
Daily Hours: Approximately 11.5 hours per day
Core Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled School Social Worker to support a diverse special education student population. This role focuses on working with students who have significant cognitive impacts, including both verbal and non-verbal individuals. The School Social Worker will play a critical role in providing emotional and social support, crisis intervention, and advocacy to promote student success within an inclusive educational environment.
Specialized Student Support: Provide individualized social work services to students with impacted cognitive levels and varying communication abilities, including non-verbal students.
IEP Collaboration: Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), with an emphasis on social-emotional goals.
Crisis Intervention: Utilize effective de-escalation techniques and provide immediate support during emotional or behavioral crises.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive student support.
Advocacy & Resource Coordination: Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community-based resources to address students’ social and emotional needs.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Licensure: Active Illinois Social Worker (SW) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement required.
Experience: Prior experience working with special education populations or students with cognitive disabilities strongly preferred.
Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to adapt communication methods to effectively support non-verbal and cognitively impacted students.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with special education compliance requirements and documentation standards.
