Work Arrangement: Approximately 80% remote, up to 20% on-site
The Epic Application Analyst Level 3 will work with stakeholders, users, and project teams to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements. The role includes preparing technical documentation, test plans, release notes, end-user guides, training materials, and process models. The analyst will also provide application support, coordinate user groups, and assist in the implementation of system enhancements, ensuring alignment with organizational and clinical goals.
Interview users, stakeholders, and sponsors to assess departmental needs and capture requirements
Develop business, functional, and technical requirements documentation
Analyze and decompose information into data sources, data types, user types, interface components, reporting needs, and administrative system requirements
Create conceptual models, process flowcharts, role and accountability diagrams, and storyboards
Prepare technical documentation, release notes, training guides, and test plans
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, workgroups, and project team activities
Provide end-user and application support, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
Assist in unit and user acceptance testing and deployment coordination
Mentor and guide junior clinical business analysts and other project team members
Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate recommendations
Work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Ensure compliance with quality standards and organizational policies
Experience analyzing and documenting business and clinical requirements
Experience creating conceptual models, process flowcharts, and technical specifications
Ability to gather and convert information into detailed requirements including interfaces, constraints, and non-functional requirements
Experience working with project management teams to manage risks and ambiguities
Strong facilitation, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to train and mentor junior team members
Flexibility to work beyond regular hours and report on-site within 48 hours when required
Epic Certification required
Clinical background preferred
At least 2 full life-cycle implementations preferred
Experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) or cross-functional team environment
Master’s or advanced clinical degree with 2+ years of experience leading requirements gathering for healthcare or IT applications, or
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
2–5 years’ experience with Epic EMR or other clinical applications
