Compensation & Incentives

  • Base Pay Range: $31.84 – $46.26/hr (experience-based; up to 17+ years)

  • On-Call Pay: $4.00/hr

  • Shift Differentials:

    • Nights: $4.50/hr

    • Weekends: $1.50/hr

    • National Certification (e.g., CNOR): $1.50/hr

Sign-On Bonus:

  • $10,000 – Days

  • $15,000 – Nights

Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis


Position Overview

The Open Heart / CVOR Registered Nurse delivers specialized perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic and open-heart surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical expertise in CVOR workflows, sterile technique, patient monitoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The ideal candidate is clinically confident, adaptable to on-call demands, and committed to delivering high-acuity, outcomes-driven care in a fast-paced surgical environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide perioperative nursing care for open-heart and cardiothoracic surgical procedures

  • Maintain strict sterile technique and adherence to surgical safety standards

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and operating room staff

  • Anticipate procedural needs and respond effectively to intraoperative changes

  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and quality requirements

  • Participate in on-call rotation to support emergent cardiac cases


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Open Heart (CVOR) RN experience in an acute care hospital (required)

  • Active Florida RN license or multistate compact license

    • Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA Healthcare Provider) – required

  • BSN preferred

  • CNOR preferred
