Pay Rate: $85/hour (Approx. $3,187.50 weekly)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in New York, NY. The technologist will be responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment, and producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and strict adherence to radiation safety standards and institutional protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures and therapeutic studies

  • Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with physician orders and safety guidelines

  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment, including gamma cameras, SPECT, and PET systems

  • Accurately position patients and provide clear instructions to ensure optimal image quality

  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures for any adverse reactions

  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self

  • Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC required)

  • Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals

  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and institutional regulations

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

  • Educate patients on procedures and post-exam care

  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience

  • Experience performing diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures

  • Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals and radiation safety standards

  • EPIC EMR experience required

  • Travel experience preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a high-volume hospital or academic medical center

  • PET/CT experience preferred

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Active New York State Nuclear Medicine Technologist License

  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification

  • AHA BLS certification
