Pay Range:
Local: $35–$40/hour
Travel: $42–$47/hour
Position Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, promoting functional independence and enhancing quality of life. The role involves developing individualized treatment plans for patients with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities, enabling them to achieve maximum independence in daily living, work, and social environments. This position is based in both hospital and outpatient clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and implement occupational therapy programs for patients affected by illness, injury, or developmental and psychological conditions
Evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, and functional abilities and set realistic rehabilitation goals
Design and execute therapeutic activities to improve work, life-management, and social skills
Monitor patient progress and maintain detailed clinical documentation
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient rehabilitation
Educate and train patients and caregivers on therapy techniques and post-treatment care
Recommend modifications to patients’ home or work environments to support functional independence
Develop and participate in group therapy, wellness programs, and health promotion initiatives
Assist physicians during clinic sessions with evaluations and treatment planning
Coordinate with insurance providers to obtain authorization for adaptive equipment
Float to specialized clinics as needed while maintaining the same schedule
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Licensure & Certification:
Active New York State Occupational Therapy license
NBCOT certification preferred
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) required
Experience: 0–2 years as an Occupational Therapist
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, treatment methods, and rehabilitation techniques
Understanding of human behavior, performance, and adaptive strategies
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills
