Travel ICU Step Down (Med/Surg SD) Registered Nurse
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Days (3x12) | 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Hours Per Week: 34.5
Travel Rate: $2,897.50/week
Job Overview:
We are seeking highly skilled Registered Nurses for the ICU Step Down unit to assist with increased patient census. This role involves caring for patients transitioning out of the ICU who still require closer monitoring than a general Med/Surg unit. The RN will manage a patient ratio of 1:4, caring for patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics.
Key Responsibilities:
High-Acuity Monitoring: Manage patients with complex medical equipment, including catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
Patient Assessment: Conduct frequent assessments and escalate care immediately upon changes in patient condition.
Emergency Response: Respond effectively to cardiac arrests and rapid response situations.
Procedures: Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administer conscious sedation as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Step Down experience OR
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
Technical Skills:
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
Education: Associate’s Degree (ASN/ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program (Bachelor’s preferred)
Licensure: Active New York State RN License
Certifications:
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
