Job Title: SPED Cross Categorical Assistant
Location: Ashburn, VA 20148
Contract Duration: 29 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 2:45 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $45–$48 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated SPED Cross Categorical Assistant to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. This role involves working directly with students in both inclusive and specialized classroom settings, helping them remain engaged, organized, and supported throughout the school day. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and adaptable in a dynamic educational environment.
Provide individualized academic support across multiple subjects
Assist in implementing IEP accommodations, modifications, and behavior support strategies
Reinforce instruction under the direction of teachers and specialists
Monitor student behavior and promote positive classroom conduct
Support classroom routines, transitions, arrival/dismissal, and small-group activities
Document observations and student progress as required
Encourage social skills development and positive peer interactions
Maintain a structured, supportive learning environment in alignment with school policies
Prior experience working with children or in a special education setting preferred
Experience as a paraprofessional, classroom assistant, ABA therapist, or similar role is a plus
Ability to follow instructional guidance and consistently apply interventions
Strong communication skills with a calm and patient approach
Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full contract duration
Comfortable supporting students with additional academic or behavioral needs
