Job Title: SPED Cross-Categorical Assistant
Location: Sterling, VA 20164
Contract Duration: 31 Weeks
Schedule: 8:50 AM – 3:40 PM
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: $45 – $48 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated SPED Cross-Categorical Assistant to support students with a range of special education needs. This role involves assisting students across multiple disability categories and supporting instructional, behavioral, and classroom activities. The ideal candidate is patient, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support student success.
Provide direct academic, behavioral, and social support to students with cross-categorical needs
Assist teachers with lesson reinforcement, small-group instruction, and individualized support
Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies as directed
Support students during classroom activities, transitions, specials, lunch, and daily routines
Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and organizational skills
Document student progress, behavior, and observations as required
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and administrative staff
Follow school policies, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism
Experience working with children in special education or related settings preferred
Background as a SPED assistant, paraprofessional, PCA, ABA aide, or classroom support staff is a plus
Ability to follow instructional plans and manage classroom behaviors effectively
Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full contract duration
