Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Contract Assignment

Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Montesano, WA

Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for residents requiring speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing interventions. The clinician will work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment focused on enhancing patient outcomes and promoting functional independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations for residents.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing function.

  • Document assessments, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.

  • Provide patient and family education on communication strategies, safe swallowing, and home exercise programs.

  • Collaborate with nursing staff, rehabilitation team members, and physicians to ensure coordinated patient care.

  • Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary approaches for patient progress.

  • Monitor patient response to therapy and adjust treatment plans as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and facility policies and professional guidelines.

  • Utilize therapeutic equipment and technology to support patient rehabilitation efforts.

  • Support a positive, patient-centered environment while promoting safety and quality of care.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted SLP license in the state of assignment.

  • Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred.

  • Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
