Experienced Mammography Technologist needed for a full-time assignment performing high-quality mammography and breast imaging procedures.
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality mammography and stereotactic breast imaging procedures under the direction of a radiologist. This role includes patient preparation, image acquisition, quality control, equipment operation, and documentation in adherence to regulatory and facility standards.
The technologist must ensure patient comfort, maintain safety protocols, and deliver exceptional imaging quality to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.
• Perform mammography and stereotactic breast procedures in accordance with physician orders and regulatory guidelines.
• Greet patients, verify identity, explain exam procedures, and ensure a comfortable and safe experience.
• Position patients accurately and adjust exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Maintain image quality standards required by MQSA, ACR Mammography QA/QC Manual, and equipment-specific QC guidelines.
• Document patient information in the Radiology Information System for reporting and billing.
• Ensure proper operation, cleanliness, and basic maintenance of mammography equipment.
• Maintain continuing education and compliance with MQSA requirements.
• Assist with department workflow and perform related duties as needed.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist
• AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
• Valid NY State Radiologic Technologist license/registration
• ARRT certification in Mammography (or eligible—must obtain within 1 year of appointment)
• Current CPR certification
• Must pass pre-employment health clearance
• Strong technical proficiency in mammography imaging and positioning
• Excellent patient-care and communication skills
• Ability to maintain accuracy, quality, and compliance standards
• Knowledge of MQSA, ACR, and equipment-specific QC requirements
