Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) – Nights

Location: Woodsville, New Hampshire
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 3×12-Hour Shifts per Week
Assignment Type: Contract


Position Overview

A dedicated and skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse is needed to join a 24/7 ED team within a Level IV Trauma Center serving patients of all ages. This role involves delivering high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced environment, working alongside board-certified emergency physicians and experienced emergency nursing staff.


Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited RN program

  • Active New Hampshire RN License

  • Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years ED experience (or willingness to train exceptional candidates)

  • Ability to meet physical requirements: standing/walking for long periods, bending/kneeling, lifting up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally

  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and de-escalation skills

  • Must be flexible, calm under pressure, compassionate, and team-oriented

  • Capable of resuscitation and stabilization of trauma patients prior to transfer

  • Emergency care for both adults and pediatrics

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care within RN scope of practice

  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for diverse emergency patients

  • Collect, interpret, and act on clinical data to meet age-specific patient needs

  • Deliver safe, efficient, high-quality care aligned with unit policies and standards

  • Manage patient care concerns and escalate issues as appropriate

  • Participate in data collection for clinical research within the department

  • Collaborate effectively with ED staff, first responders, and other healthcare professionals

  • Demonstrate adherence to the mission, goals, and philosophy of the organization

  • Emergency nursing care across all age groups

  • Trauma stabilizations

  • Strong patient assessment and rapid intervention

  • Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary partners

  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations

  • Skilled in verbal and non-verbal de-escalation methods
