Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support rehabilitation services within a skilled nursing and senior-care environment. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, functional ability, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Implement physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility interventions.
Document patient treatments, progress notes, and observations according to facility and regulatory standards.
Assist in evaluating patient responses and communicate progress or concerns to the PT.
Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility strategies, and safety techniques.
Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and a safe therapeutic environment.
Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to support coordinated patient care.
Modify therapeutic activities based on patient performance and clinical guidance.
Support discharge planning by providing functional insights and progress updates.
Adhere to all professional, regulatory, and facility standards.
Qualifications:
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Maryland (or eligibility prior to start).
Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred.
Strong communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
