Physical Therapist (PT) – Travel Assignment

Location - Pittsfield, MA

Shift: Day shift
Hours: 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) for a travel assignment in a skilled nursing/rehabilitation environment. The PT will provide high-quality therapy services aimed at improving mobility, strength, functional independence, and overall quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate residents to determine functional status and develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve strength, mobility, balance, and endurance.

  • Provide restorative care and rehabilitation treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists.

  • Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment sessions, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, techniques, and safety strategies.

  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, professional, and facility standards.

  • Assist with coverage needs as required due to census changes or staffing support.

  • Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to resident outcome improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Physical Therapist license in the state of assignment (or compact license where applicable).

  • Minimum 1 year of recent PT experience, preferably in SNF, rehab, or geriatric care.

  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques, functional training, and restorative interventions.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings.

  • EMR/documentation proficiency.

  • Strong adaptability and patient-centered care mindset.
