Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Location: Ashburn, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Duration: 24+ Weeks (Possible Extension)

Job Description

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct one-on-one behavioral intervention services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT supports children and individuals with developmental, behavioral, or communication needs in home, school, or clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) developed by the supervising BCBA.

  • Accurately collect, record, and report data on client behavior, progress, and session outcomes.

  • Teach communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.

  • Manage, redirect, and appropriately respond to challenging behaviors using approved behavior intervention strategies.

  • Support clients across designated environments such as home, school, or clinic.

  • Maintain consistent communication with supervisors, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team regarding client performance and updates.

  • Protect client privacy and follow all ethical, professional, and confidentiality guidelines.

  • Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, supervision, and team meetings as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

  • Ability to follow behavior plans, take direction, and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Strong communication, patience, and observational skills.

  • Ability to work with children and individuals with developmental or behavioral needs.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field.

  • Prior experience in ABA therapy or working with children with developmental disabilities.

  • Experience working in home, school, or clinical environments.
