Role Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU RN for a high-acuity critical care environment. Candidates must have strong pediatric critical care skills and experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center. Minimal orientation is provided, so the nurse must be able to perform independently in a fast-paced PICU setting.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience (within the last 2 years)
Must have experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center
Travelers must have experience in facilities of similar or larger size/acuity
Licensure & Certifications:
Active New York State RN license
BLS certification (must be able to be recertified as needed)
EMR:
EPIC experience preferred
Additional Requirements:
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must have no history of license suspension, investigation, or liability claims
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Must pass pre-employment health screening, drug screening, and background check
Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
Perform comprehensive assessments and respond rapidly to changes in condition
Manage ventilators, drips, and advanced pediatric critical care interventions
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy, and support staff
Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC preferred)
Function independently with minimal supervision in a high-acuity environment
Required:
3+ years PICU experience
Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma hospital
Active NYS RN license
Highly Desired:
Level 1 trauma hospital experience
EPIC EMR experience
