Location: Allen, TX
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift Type: 2nd Shift, 12-Hour Nights
Desired Shift: Nights – 12 hrs (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), including weekends and holidays as needed
A new 10-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit is opening in December, and the facility is seeking an experienced RN to support the launch and ongoing patient care operations. This role involves working with postoperative surgical and orthopedic patients in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
Experience:
Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care experience on a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit
Experience managing postoperative surgical and orthopedic patients
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Active RN license in the state of employment
Patient Ratio: 1:5
Other: Ability to work weekends and holidays as required
Provide high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients
Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes
Care for postoperative and orthopedic patients, including assessments, medication administration, and discharge education
Collaborate with physicians, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary staff
Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
Support the smooth opening and workflow of a newly established unit
