The Spanish Patient Access Representative is responsible for supporting the front office operations by performing patient registration, verifying insurance, processing payments, and providing outstanding customer service to both English- and Spanish-speaking patients. This role ensures accurate data entry and seamless patient flow while complying with organizational standards and federal regulations.
Greet and assist patients, guests, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Complete patient registration, check-in, and check-out processes accurately.
Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits; obtain pre-authorizations when required.
Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances; process cash and credit card payments.
Maintain accurate and updated patient information in the electronic system.
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and provide general front desk support.
Address patient questions and concerns; escalate issues to leadership when necessary.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all confidentiality guidelines.
Assist with maintaining an organized, clean, and welcoming reception area.
Support efficient patient flow and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams as needed.
Bilingual proficiency (English & Spanish).
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to use 10-key by touch.
Prior experience in customer service, cashiering, and credit card handling.
Experience with health insurance verification processes.
Knowledge of front desk operations in a healthcare setting.
Experience with Epic EMR (preferred but not mandatory).
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
3–4 years of experience working in a medical front office, patient access, or similar healthcare administrative role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong customer service and communication skills (bilingual).
Ability to use a 10-key keypad by touch.
Accurate cash handling and credit card processing.
Knowledge of front office and administrative processes in a medical environment.
Experience in health insurance verification and eligibility checks.
Nice to have: Experience with EPIC EMR or similar electronic medical record systems.
