Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical Unit (Night Shift)

Location: Ithaca, NY
Contract Duration: 13-week
Shift: Nights | 3×12-hour shifts
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

A skilled Medical Unit Registered Nurse is needed for a night-shift assignment at a healthcare organization in Ithaca, NY. The RN will deliver high-quality inpatient care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and float to appropriate units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and/or geriatric patients on the Medical Unit

  • Perform assessments, develop care plans, and document accurately in Epic EMR

  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes promptly

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with facility protocols

  • Coordinate with physicians, care teams, and support staff

  • Maintain patient safety and quality standards at all times

  • Float to other units within RN scope of practice when required

  • Uphold infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state-appropriate)

  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent Medical/Surgical or similar inpatient experience

  • Epic EMR experience required

  • Ability and willingness to float to other inpatient units as needed

  • Must be able to work three 12-hour night shifts per week

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills
