Shift: Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Assignment Length: 14 Weeks
Location: Las Cruces, NM
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide high-quality nursing care during night-shift operations within a long-term care/rehabilitation environment. This role supports residents with clinical needs, medication administration, and ongoing monitoring to ensure safe, effective care throughout the overnight hours.
Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with state regulations and facility protocols.
Complete and document treatments in a timely and compliant manner.
Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report significant changes to the supervising RN and provider.
Perform routine assessments, including vital signs, wound care, and follow-up documentation.
Prepare and submit incident reports, infection control reports, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Supervise and support certified nursing assistants during the shift to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Provide direction, resolve workflow questions, and assist in maintaining appropriate staffing communication.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect resident privacy at all times.
Advocate for resident needs, preferences, rights, and comfort.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary team members, and oncoming shift staff.
Maintain a professional demeanor and promote a positive, respectful care environment.
Accurately document care provided in the electronic medical record.
Update and follow resident care plans as appropriate.
Perform additional nursing duties as assigned.
Active and unrestricted LPN license in the state of assignment.
Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment preferred.
Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment during overnight hours.
Must be able to supervise support staff and maintain calm, effective operations.
Experience with EMR systems.
Strong teamwork and leadership abilities.
Prior night-shift experience in a post-acute setting.
