Position Overview

The Software Engineer 3 is a senior-level engineering role requiring 8+ years of experience. The engineer will independently plan, design, and deliver complex technical solutions with significant autonomy and creativity. This position may also involve guiding or mentoring other developers.

You will work as part of the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team, focusing on designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions. The role requires deep expertise in RPA tools—specifically Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, and Azure—along with strong troubleshooting and web technology skills. The project environment is fast-paced and Agile (Kanban/Scrum).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop automation solutions by analyzing business requirements and system workflows.

  • Design, build, test, and deploy RPA bots for various business processes.

  • Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and validation of automated workflows.

  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, and IT teams to optimize automation opportunities.

  • Participate in solution architecture, infrastructure planning, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Maintain and enhance existing RPA implementations.

  • Work with HTTP responses, web technologies, and scripting for automation tasks.

  • Support Agile development cycles with regular updates, stand-ups, and sprint activities.

Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  • 8 years of hands-on RPA development experience, including 4+ years with Blue Prism.

  • 8 years of experience with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, DOM, HTTP protocol).

  • 8 years of experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.

  • 8 years of experience building and consuming RESTful web services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years experience with API development.

  • 4 years experience in process discovery, requirements gathering, and solution architecture.

  • 4 years proficiency with one or more programming languages (C#, Java, Python).

  • 3 years experience with Azure infrastructure and troubleshooting.

  • 3 years experience working in Agile development environments.

  • 1 year experience building solutions using Microsoft Power Automate.

  • Blue Prism Certification (Preferred).

  • Microsoft Power Platform Developer Certification (Preferred).

  • Prior experience supporting Health and Human Services (HHS) or Office of Inspector General (OIG) (Preferred).
