Weekly Gross Pay: $2,926
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering occupational therapy treatment programs as prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional. This role includes overseeing the development, implementation, supervision, and continual evaluation of the activities program.
The therapist will complete and/or delegate components of the comprehensive assessment, contribute to individualized care plans, and ensure that goals align with the skills, needs, and preferences of each student.
Conducts student evaluations and develops occupational therapy care plans.
Demonstrates competency in evaluations involving cognition, perception, sensory skills, motor coordination, ADLs, strength/ROM, and home management.
Interviews students and families to support care planning.
Selects assessment tools and establishes long-term goals and objectives.
Designs and administers individualized treatment plans.
Completes progress notes, summaries, and documentation for all services.
Prepares accurate and timely service notes for student records.
Assists with ordering and maintaining therapy supplies.
Ensures confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and district policies.
Completes all daily, weekly, and monthly checklists, schedules, and inventories.
Participates in setting and upholding measurable care standards.
Remains current with clinical and professional OT developments.
Maintains regular attendance in accordance with district procedures.
Upholds ethical standards, manages priorities, and works well under pressure.
Performs other duties as assigned by school leadership.
Valid South Carolina Occupational Therapist license through SC Labor Licensing Regulation.
Graduate of an accredited OT program (BS, MA/MS required).
Minimum 2 years of direct OT experience, including strong pediatric experience in a school setting.
Current CPR certification required.
Proficiency with computers and word processing software.
Ability to support the mission and values of the school district.
Familiarity with general computer applications used in school and therapy settings.
Ability to stay informed on changing regulations, policies, and standards.
Strong command of business and medical terminology, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and basic math.
Professional, warm, and positive demeanor.
Ability to adapt to shifting demands and responsibilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in sensitive situations.
Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
Ability to operate general office equipment and perform related tasks.
Travel to designated sites as needed for student care or therapy.
Routine use of standard office equipment.
Physical requirements include lifting/moving items up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work under time-sensitive and high-attention demands, interacting with both students and adults.
