Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant to support classroom instruction, student learning, and individualized education programs. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, productive learning environment while providing hands-on support to students with diverse needs.

Essential Duties

  • Assist the Teacher in achieving instructional objectives, implementing behavioral strategies, and supporting IEP goals.

  • Provide tutoring in academic subjects, daily living skills, and social development in both individual and group settings.

  • Monitor and ensure safe use of classroom tools, materials, and equipment.

  • Observe, document, and maintain accurate student records in accordance with Federal, State, and organizational guidelines.

  • Support students with personal care needs, including lifting, toileting, feeding, and hygiene assistance.

  • Accompany and transport students to activities, programs, and appointments as required.

  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and ongoing professional development.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Work-unit policies, procedures, and educational program standards.

  • Classroom administrative practices and instructional support methods.

  • Applicable rules, regulations, and operational procedures.

  • Instructional strategies, learning methods, and evidence-based educational practices.

  • Behavior management and student support techniques.

  • Computer applications and standard office equipment.

Skills

  • Monitoring and assessing student learning and behavior.

  • Using augmentative and alternative communication tools.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Effective planning and task prioritization.

Abilities

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and parents.

  • Multitask and adapt in a dynamic educational environment.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Operate assistive technology and classroom equipment confidently.

  • Perform physical tasks such as reaching, stooping, bending, and lifting.

  • Utilize office equipment accurately and efficiently.
