Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)
Schedule: 40 hours per week
8- or 10-hour shifts
Shift options: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM / 5:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM / 7:30 PM
Weekly Gross Pay: $2401
The Surgical Technologist/OR Tech will play a key role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety by maintaining a sterile, efficient, and well-prepared operating room environment. This role works collaboratively with Registered Nurses and Surgeons to assist with all aspects of operative care.
Prepare operating rooms by setting up instruments, equipment, sterile solutions, and drapes
Maintain strict sterility according to facility policies and AORN Standards
Perform scrub technician duties for all surgical specialties
Assemble, test, and adjust equipment to ensure proper functioning
Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures
Assist with retractors, cutting sutures, sponge/needle/instrument counts
Prepare and handle specimens for laboratory analysis
Assist with applying surgical dressings
Ensure all specialty-specific equipment and instruments are available per surgeon preference cards
Support patient transport and positioning on the OR table
Apply appropriate sterilization methods for special equipment
Understand and correctly operate OR supplies and equipment
Prepare and label medications during the surgical procedure as directed by RN and surgeon
Assist with patient transfer to recovery
Participate in OR turnover and restocking between cases
Uphold patient dignity, privacy, and safety at all times
Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and continuing education
Support orientation of new OR staff as needed
Maintain teamwork, communication, and a commitment to high-quality patient care
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff
Ortho experience strongly preferred
Minimum 2+ years of recent Surgical Tech/OR Tech experience
Graduate of an Accredited Civilian or Military Operating Room Technician/Surgical Technician Program
National Certification (NBSTSA) required within 12 months of graduation and must be maintained
Current BLS certification required
