Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Fort Myers, FL
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts | Day or Night Available
Start Date: Within 2–3 Weeks of Offer


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for a 19-bed unit in Fort Myers, FL. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, the ability to handle high-acuity patients, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care during all phases of labor, delivery, and recovery.

  • Monitor, assess, and document maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring.

  • Manage complex, high-acuity cases while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

  • Administer medications, including epidurals and oxytocin, as ordered.

  • Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures (e.g., C-sections).

  • Educate and support mothers and families throughout the birthing process.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Float to other units or sister campuses as needed.


Requirements

  • Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license (required).

  • 2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (required).

  • Prior travel nursing experience (required).

  • Certifications:

    • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)

    • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

    • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (required)

    • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or EFM certification (preferred)

  • Degree accreditation required – if not available, must have minimum 5 years of experience.

  • Must be able to work in a high-acuity L&D environment with 1:1 or 1:2 ratios.

  • EMR: Epic

  • Scrub Colors: Galaxy Blue and/or White


Additional Details

  • Call Requirement: 12 hours per 6-week schedule period.

  • Floating: Required – travelers float first to similar units or sister campuses.

  • Culture: Team-oriented environment; travelers are treated as core staff.

  • All RTO or schedule requests must be declared at submission.
