Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) – Ambulatory Care (Family Medicine)

Location: Rochester, NY 14611
Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: 5x8-Hour Days (07:00 AM – 04:30 PM)
Orientation: 16 Hours (Non-Billable)


Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) with experience in Ambulatory or Family Medicine settings for an 8-week assignment in Rochester, New York. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment and able to provide high-quality nursing support to patients across Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatric departments.

This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to float between multiple primary care locations as needed.


Schedule & Contract Details

  • Shift: 5x8-Hour Days (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

  • Days: Monday – Friday

  • Duration: 8 Weeks

  • Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed

  • Floating: Required – may float to other Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics locations based on need

  • Orientation: 16 Hours (Non-Billable)

  • Local Candidates: Accepted at adjusted rate if within commuting distance


Requirements

  • License: Active and unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of New York

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Ambulatory, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics

  • Certifications:

    • AHA BLS required

  • Travelers: First-time travelers welcome


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing direct patient care under the supervision of RNs and physicians

  • Room patients, record vital signs, and document patient information accurately

  • Administer medications and injections per provider orders

  • Perform EKGs, nasopharyngeal swabs, ear irrigations, and blood pressure monitoring

  • Support clinical operations including charting, patient flow, and in-basket communication

  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment and adhere to infection control protocols

  • Provide patient education and reinforce treatment plans as directed

  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and teamwork in all interactions
