Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 3x12-Hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

Position Overview:

We are seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (RNs) to join a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department team. The RN will also float to Pediatric ED and other cross-campus Emergency Departments as needed.

Ideal candidates will have Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience and a strong background in both adult and pediatric emergency care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-acuity, trauma-focused environment while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.

  • Triage, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on acuity and clinical presentation.

  • Administer medications, perform diagnostic testing, and manage emergency interventions.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.

  • Accurately document all care and patient interactions in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

  • Float between Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments, and other emergency care units as needed.

  • Work every other weekend and some holidays as scheduled.


Qualifications:

  • Active New York RN License required.

  • BLS certification (AHA) required and must maintain eligibility for renewal.

  • Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of comparable size and level.

  • Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers preferred.

  • EPIC EMR experience preferred.

  • Must possess strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

  • Must not have had any license or certification suspended or under investigation.

  • Must not have been named in any professional liability claim.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Must successfully pass pre-employment health screening, background check, and drug screening.


Duties and Expectations:

  • Perform majority of patient care skills independently with minimal orientation.

  • Exhibit excellent clinical judgment and adaptability in a fast-paced emergency setting.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to patient safety and quality care.
