Pay Rate: $3,645 (Weekly Gross)
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. This position requires a strong background in critical care or cardiovascular nursing, with the ability to manage complex patient needs and respond effectively in high-acuity situations.
Utilize the nursing process effectively to deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining accurate and current patient records.
Provide ongoing assessment and documentation throughout the patient’s hospital stay, including physical, psychological, and social dimensions, and collaborate on discharge planning.
Demonstrate proficiency in the charge nurse role, offering leadership and guidance to nursing and technical staff.
Utilize computerized nursing informatics systems to document care and manage patient information.
Act as a resource and mentor for staff, assisting with orientation and training initiatives.
Participate in staff meetings, mandatory programs, and continuing education activities to ensure compliance and professional growth.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying and evaluating patient care indicators and outcomes.
Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, including blood/body fluid procedures.
Maintain professional development documentation and stay current on procedures and regulations related to cardiac and critical care nursing.
Represent the healthcare facility professionally, maintaining confidentiality and upholding service excellence standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising nurse manager or department head.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Must pass Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia Exams (prior to start).
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience within the last 5 years in one or more of the following areas:
Critical Care (ICU, CVICU)
Acute Cardiac Unit / Stepdown (post-procedure monitoring and management)
Proficiency in I.V. administration and telemetry monitoring.
Completion of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) course.
Use of lead apron required during procedures.
On-call coverage required for off-shift hours, weekends, and holidays.
Recent cardiovascular interventional nursing experience within the last 5 years.
BLS (AHA) – Required
ACLS – Required
Active RN License in Massachusetts or a Compact State License
